Data Protection Notice

This notice summarises, in plain language, how Pet & Pet protects the personal data of the people who read it and write to it. It complements our fuller privacy policy, which remains the authoritative document.

Principles we follow

Minimisation. We ask for the least information that lets us do the job — a name, an email address and a message.
Purpose limitation. Data given for one purpose is not quietly reused for another.
Transparency. Every form on the site says what happens to the data before you submit it.
Consent for non-essential tracking. Analytics and advertising cookies load only after you agree, and the choice is passed to Google through Consent Mode v2.
Security. HTTPS, updated software, restricted administrative access and brute-force login protection.
No sale of personal data. We do not sell your personal information.

Legal bases for processing

Consent — analytics cookies, advertising cookies and any future newsletter.
Legitimate interest — answering your messages, moderating comments, keeping the website secure and measuring aggregate audience.
Legal obligation — retaining records where the law requires it.

Retention at a glance

Contact form messages: up to 24 months.
Comments and their metadata: indefinitely, unless you ask for removal.
Server logs: typically 30 to 90 days.
Analytics data: at most 14 months.

The rights you can exercise

Access — ask what we hold about you.
Rectification — correct anything inaccurate.
Erasure — ask us to delete your data, including your comments.
Restriction and objection — ask us to pause or stop a particular use.
Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable file.
Withdrawal of consent — at any time, without needing a reason.
Complaint — to your national data protection authority, or to your state attorney general in the United States.

How to make a request

Write to contacto@ppetandpet.com with the request and enough information for us to find your records. We answer within 30 days. We may ask a question or two to confirm that the request really comes from you, which protects you as much as us.

Data breaches

If a security incident affects personal data and creates a real risk to the people involved, we will notify the competent authority within the legally required time and inform affected readers directly where we are able to.

Processors we rely on

Hosting (Namecheap), email delivery, Google Analytics, Google AdSense, our consent management platform, and security and anti-spam services. The current detail is described in the privacy policy, which we update whenever a service is added or removed.

International transfers

Some of these providers are located in the United States or elsewhere outside the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or an equivalent mechanism.
